It was a lovely warm Saturday afternoon in deepest Blake Wood Danbury when 12 teams of Cub Scouts turned up to face a tough challenge.
Each team was sent off to their first base and at 1 o clock the fun began. Each team had to work their way round the 12 bases doing various challenges ranging from, observation skills which the cub scouts found most difficult to tying knots with spaghetti, there was also the challenge of acid river where the cubs had to get from one side of the wood to another with two planks of wood and three crates. Team work was needed not always easy for Cubs.
The cubs also made kites and flew them and had to see how many peas they could get into a bottle.
Once all bases where finished the cubs made their way back up to Riffhams campsite where they fellowship greeted them with soup and a hotdog and the afternoon was finished off with a loud campfire.
Well done to 6th Chelmsford as they won the Riffhams Challenge shield.
See you all next year where a change of venue is planned.
